Ok the simple thing is this: we charge $125 per hour, but we will quote you how long we think it will take to repair your device. If we go over this time, you only pay what was quoted. Also, keep in mind that we work efficiently to repair and fix things within an hour, thus, rest assured, you will be quoted an affordable price.

Let us look at an example:

You call out a mobile Geek Guy and he comes out and starts to run a virus scan.

You have a 1TB drive with 750GB of data so this scan is going to take a while, after the virus scan he would run scans for Malware and browser issues. All up he could take 3 maybe 4 hours and he will charge you by the hour, so be wary of the cheap $99 repair as it will be multiplied  X 4 costing you $396.

We on the other hand will run these scans at the fixed price of $125 regardless of the time spent as we have many other jobs that we can do at the same time in our workshop.

Basically, unlike other service providers, The Electronic Fix is here to provide that good old fashion, honest service.

First of all, don’t fall victim to such sales gimmicks as ‘No Fix No Fee’. Because, a fully qualified and experienced technicians should be able to fix the problem. Also, for any type of legitimate business, this is impossible to offer as it always takes time to diagnose a fault (so its fixed correctly the first time). That is why, we charge a low fixed fee for diagnostic of $69 if you do not go ahead with the repair.

The other thing to bear in mind is that whilst diagnosing the fault we may actually find the fault and repair it during this process, in this case we would charge you the $125 for the entire repair. Basically, our main aim is to assist all our valued customers while offering the most competitive rates in Brisbane.

An example again is one day we get 8 liquid damaged MacBook Air laptops in for a quote and we strip them out to inspect the damage. This could take 1 hour to strip and reassemble each one, if the customer did not want to repair the fault, then we would end up out of pocket as a business.

We have Eftpos onsite so we can take visa, cash, debit card or even bank transfer if needed.

Computers and laptops do get to a point where they may not be upgradeable, or even repaired as the parts become obsolete. When you bring your device into us at our Mitchelton store, we can diagnose the fault, and quote a repair cost, or tell you very quickly if your device is too old and beyond repair.

Most computer devices that are 4 years old can have upgrades like An SSD installed, or system Memory (RAM) increased to improve performance.

You certainly can bring your computers into our store, but in most cases just the tower, or all in one is enough for us to fix issues, as we have all other parts in store, so no need for keyboards, mouse or monitors.

We do have a diagnostic fee that we charge for repair quotes if you do not go ahead with the quoted price.

If we can see the problem within a few minutes, then we will not charge you anything, for example: if your laptop does not switch on and we test the charger and find it faulty, then we would not charge for this service.
